The Vasa Museum State museum on the island of Djurgården in Stockholm. It's one of the State Maritime museums and the current building has been open to visitors since 15 June 1990. The building is the result of a Nordic architecture competition, that was won by Månsson & Dahlbäck.

The opening hours vary a little bit. Daily: September - May: 10:00-17:00 (Wednesdays until 20:00) Daily: June - August 08:30 - 18:00. If you're visiting anytime between September and May, Wednesday seems like the best day to come to the museum - you can stay until 8pm!

The new building of the Vasa Museum opened in the summer of 1990, and HRH King Carl XVI Gustaf opened it. The sheer scale and the beauty of Vasa are breathtaking; almost 700 wooden sculptures and figures adorn her length and breadth. The 69-meter-long warship Vasa sank on its maiden voyage in the middle of Stockholm in 1628 and was salvaged 333.

The Vasa Museum in Stockholm is open daily: 8:30 to 18:00 in June, July & August. 10:00 to 17:00 (closing 20:00 on Wednesdays) from September to May. The museum is open on Sundays and Mondays and most holidays except over Christmas and New Year. The museum is open as normal over midsummer.
